Bernard "Bernie" Brennan

Bernard "Bernie" Brennan, 73, of Center Twp. passed away Tuesday May 14, 2018 in Beaver Elder Care, Hopewell Twp. Born May 14, 1945 in Rochester, Pa. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Brannigan) Brennan. Bernie was a devoted member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Center Twp., a US Army veteran having served his country in the Vietnam War, a graduate of St. Veronica High School, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and a member of the Holy Name Society. Bernie previously work at LTV Steel, Aliquippa and for the former Center School District. Bernie received the Fr. Marcus O'Brien Award from Bishop Zubik for this charitable work. Close to Bernie's heart was his affiliation with St. Vincent DePaul Society and spending countless hours for the need of others. Bernie is survived by his sister and brother in law Anna Marie and William Mauro, Ivyland, Pa, 3 nieces and their spouses Beth and Ed Barry, Jennifer and Eric Ehresman, Molly and Frank Manney, a nephew Gregory Mauro and his wife Cathy, 6 grand nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and extended family in Ireland and Australia. Bernie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph and Kevin Brennan. Friends will be received Friday May 18, 2018 from 6-7pm in the Tatalovich Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., www.tatalovichfuneralhome.com, 3475 Brodhead Rd., Monaca (Center Twp.). Additional visitation will be held at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Center Twp. on Saturday May 19, 2018 from 8:30 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am. Fr. Martin Bartel will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hopewell Twp. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Bernie's name to: Special Olympics 200 Cedar Ridge Dr. #214, Pittsburgh, Pa 15205. Bernie war rarely seen without a camera. He was counted on to record every meaningful family event. He was a kind hearted man who was always willing to help others.
