Margaret A. Walsh Obituary

Margaret Anne Walsh of Doylestown, PA passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Monday, February 26, 2024. She was 99.


Born in Austin, TX to the late Luther Mason Dimmitt and Mary (Robnett) Dimmitt, Margaret resided in Swarthmore, PA before moving to the Doylestown area.


Margaret earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art from Hood College in 1946 and a Certificate in Elementary Education from Temple University in 1970. Over the years she had been employed as a social worker, librarian and elementary school substitute teacher. Margaret was a member of the Doylestown Presbyterian Church, the Peace Valley Yacht Club and a 50+ year member of the Philadelphia Trail Club. She enjoyed hiking, camping, world wide traveling, painting, knitting, being a Girl Scout Leader, creating crafts with her granddaughters, sailing, cross country skiing and and even tried rock climbing in her youth.


She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Howard Walsh for 56 years; devoted mother of the late Peter H. Walsh (Linda), David R. Walsh, Jean M. Neal (David), and; dear sister of the late Mary Klamer and late husband Oscar; loving grandmother of Lindsey Walsh, Kathryn Metallo (Michael), Holly Neal, Becca Shambo (Matthew), Nathaniel Neal (Melissa), and Robyn Neal; also survived by 8 great grandchildren.


Services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
