Donna Ester White
<p>Donna Ester White, 91, of Independence, Iowa died peacefully Tuesday evening February 27, 2024, at the ABCM Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Iowa with her family at her side. </p><p><br></p><p> Donna was born on October 30, 1932, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Ava (Ritchie) McFee. She was a 1950 graduate of Independence High School and was united in marriage to Ronald “Larry” White on March 26, 1956. The couple made their home in what she affectionately called the “White House” in Independence where they raised their five children. Donna was employed with the Raytheon Co., Microswitch Co., The Jungle Club, and the Mental Health Institute before providing in-home daycare, which she truly cherished. </p><p><br></p><p>Donna and Larry owned several classic cars and were members of a classic car club. Together they enjoyed attending countless car shows throughout Iowa. But her favorite thing she enjoyed the most was taking care of her children, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren, along with all the children who called her grandma.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by four children: Chuck (Teri) White, Oelwein, IA; David (Ruth Ellen) White, Littleton, CO., Randy White, Waterloo, IA and Ronda See, Independence, IA. Ten Grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. </p><p><br></p><p>Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald “Larry” White on July 9, 2012, a daughter and son-in-law Renee & Rick Heffernen, two grandsons, and two great-grandsons. Three sisters: Doris McFee in infancy, Marian Blacktin, LaVon Langdon, and two brothers; Gilbert McFee and Don McFee. </p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to invite you to a Celebration of Life Ceremony which will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Reiff Family Center in Independence, Iowa. Please direct memorials to the family of Donna White. Following the service a luncheon will be served at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, IA.</p><p><br></p>Obituary
