Kathleen Elizabeth Caines

August 24, 1959 - February 27, 2024

Kathleen Elizabeth Caines was born to Harold and Ada Wellon on August 24, 1959 in Buchans. She grew up in Millertown and went to high school in Buchans, where she met her husband and best friend Brian.

She was a past member of the Heritage Society, town councillor for 10 years, and president and treasurer of the dart league.

Kathleen was voted queen by her classmates when she graduated high school, was top of her class of 25 for personal care attendant, as well as graduated a two year office administration course. Kathleen worked for McNamara and Tech Duck Pond Operations.

She was an avid outdoor enthusiast who loved boil ups, skidooing, ATVing, trouting, a warm beer, and of course her cabin.

Kathleen and Brian had 3 beautiful daughters: Jill, Sarah and Nicole, and six grandchildren: Sean, Joshua, Alyson, Brian, Gracin and Elowyn. Kathleen’s love for her children and grandchildren was endless, and they were the top priority of her life.

Kathleen will be forever loved and missed.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Brian; daughters: Jill (Shaun) of Labrador City, Sarah of Buchans, and Nicole (Drew) of Kentville, NS; her grandchildren: Sean, Joshua, Brian, Alyson, Gracin and Elowyn; her brother Fred (Joanne); her sisters Karen (Dave) and Marlene (Dave); as well as a large extended family. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Harold and Ada Wellon.

Donations in Kathleen's memory may be made to Millertown Community Church

Don’t remember me with sadness,

Don’t remember me with tears,

Remember all the laughter,

We’ve shared throughout the years.

Now I am contented

That my life it was worthwhile,

Knowing as I passed along the way

I made somebody smile.

When you are walking down the street

And you’ve got me on your mind,

I’m walking in your footsteps

Only half a step behind.

So please don’t be unhappy

Just because I’m out of sight,

Remember that I’m with you

Each morning, noon, and night.
