Cheryl Malama Obituary

A beloved mother, sister and friend, Cheryl Malama, 66, of Providence passed away peacefully, at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence, on February 27th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a cherished daughter of the late, Carl and Madeline (Osowiecki) Malama. She is survived by her three children, Joshua Malama of Providence, Crystal Davignon and her husband Michael of Warwick, and Tiffany Malama also of Providence. She is also survived by her five siblings, two brothers, Robert Savitsky of Coventry, John Savitsky of Johnston, three sisters, Mary Adamo of Warwick, Christine Hodges and her husband Alfred of Coventry and Colleen Hernandez of Providence. She leaves behind her three precious grandchildren and two great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews by whom she will be sorely missed. She will also be missed by her special black feline friend Nugget.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Cheryl was hard working, family orientated and cherished her role as a mom. She was outgoing and witty with a great sense of humor and a spunky personality to match. Her smile lit up every room she entered and her exceptionally generous spirit was always obvious to all of us who love her. She worked in the healthcare industry at Elmhurst Long term Care facility for nearly 30 years where she showed boundless compassion and empathy for those for whom she cared for and attended to.

In her spare time, when she wasn’t spending time with her children and grandchildren, she spent time with her siblings, she liked to go to Bingo games at the Casino and more recently at the local VFW Post. She was talented and enthusiastic and enjoyed arts and crafts all of which she could be found enjoying her favorite Dunkin Donuts coffee. She also loved camping in her younger days, she enjoyed going to Maine with family and friends where she enjoyed nature and the peace of the outdoors. She had a heart of gold and was well known in her neighborhood for her kindness and giving spirit. She was a treasure, and she will be missed until we meet again, may Cheryl rest in eternal peace.

Services for Cheryl, to which family and friends are respectfully invited to attend, will be held in the Berarducci Funeral Home 26 Grove St Providence on Friday March 1st from 3-5 pm burial will be private.
