Joseph R. Bileau Obituary

Woonsocket – Joseph R. Bileau, 90, of Woonsocket, RI, and a former longtime resident of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at The Friendly Home. He was the beloved husband of the late Therese M. (Handfield) Bileau, of Woonsocket, RI. They were married for 69 years.


Joseph is survived by his 6 children, Sandra A. Maclennan, of Bellingham, Ma. Michael R. Bileau of Bellingham, MA, Cindy L. Perreault of Woonsocket, RI, Norman D. Bileau and partner, Leeann Brooks of Bellingham, Ma, Hope T. Kent of Lincoln, NH, and Brian J. Bileau and wife, Joyce L. Bileau, of Brooklyn, CT ,and the late Mitchell R. Bileau who passed away in October 2019.
Joseph (Pepere) will continue to be loved by his 15 grandchildren, Daniel Watson and wife Jennifer of Warwick, RI, Ian Maclennan of Uxbridge, MA, Alexander P. H. Maclennan, MD of Queens, NY, Marla  McCarthy and husband Chris of Attleboro, MA, Michaela Bileau and Mallary White of Halifax. Ma. Heather Perreault of Greenville, RI, Amber Lizotte and husband Andy of Woonsocket RI, David Bileau, Nicole Hanson and her husband Jon,  Julia Bileau and partner Chris, of Woonsocket, RI, Kyle Goff and wife Julie of Lincoln, NH, Erin Kent and fiancé Antonio Matias of Worcester, MA, Ashley Hooser and husband John of MO, and Christina Bileau and partner Cameron of Milton, NH.


Joseph also has twelve great-grandchildren, Kayden, Liam, Melissa, William, Samuel, Alaina, Addilyn, Aylee, Athos, Mannix, Owen, and Dylan.
Joseph served 4 years in the Air Force, serving in Alaska, California, and Mississippi. He loved anything that had to do with sports, his favorite teams being the Detroit Tigers, as well as all the Boston based teams. He especially enjoyed coaching football and baseball, umpiring softball games, and he spent many memorable cruises with his wife Terry.
Joseph will be missed by family, friends, and acquaintances.


A Funeral Home Service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 2:30 PM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 1-2:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
