<p>Richard Lee Parkin, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 after several months of declining health.</p><p><br></p><p>Born October 16, 1936 in Wickliffe, he was a lifelong Northeast Ohio resident, having lived many years in Hambden Township before moving to Kirtland in 2019.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a volunteer fireman with the Hambden Township Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed country and bluegrass music and spending time with his family, especially the holidays.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Parkin employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Wickliffe for his entire career. </p><p><br></p><p>Survivors are his children, Tom (Linda) Parkin, Christy (Tony) Brettrager and Lisa Thompson; grandchildren, David, Jeremy, Jim (Amber), Nick, Stacey, Daniel (Cheryl), Joshua (Becky); great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Henry, Jacob, Kenzie, Maddie, Conner, Charlotte, Savannah, Sierra, Austin and Hudson; great-great granddaughter, Kiylah. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families. </p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mabel Parkin. His siblings, Eugene, Alvin, Harold, Kenneth, Tommy, Milton, Jeannette and Barbara and son-in-law, Dale Thompson are also deceased. </p><p><br></p><p>Private family burial will be in Willoughby Cemetery. </p><p><br></p>
