Mary Louise Overby, 99, of Connersville went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday morning, February 27, 2024 at Reid Health of Connersville.

Louise was born September 6, 1924 in Madison County, Kentucky, one of four children of the late James and Mary Campbell Brown.

On December 1, 1945, Louise was married in Lexington, Kentucky to James D. Overby, and they came to Connersville for residence in 1946.

Louise was employed at Hedges Drugstore for eight years and then was employed at American Kitchens before being employed as a telephone operator for GTE where she retired with twenty-four years of service. Along with her husband, she enjoyed spending winters in Arcadia, Florida. Mr. Overby passed away January 15, 2002.

On February 22, 2004, she was married in Arcadia, Florida to Richard Babcock and they returned to Connersville for residence. Mr. Babcock passed away September 20, 2017.

Louise was a member of Calvery Baptist Church, and then became a charter member of Connersville Baptist Temple. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working around the house.

Survivors include, two children, Joyce (Larry) Harris of Connersville and Kenneth (Wendi) Overby of Hatfield, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Julie (Chris Behrman) Rollins from Seymour, Doug (Dawnette) Harris of Deer Park, Texas, Devon (Jen) Overby and Derek (Ashley) Overby all of Pennsylvania; twelve great-grandchildren, Dakota Rollins, Haylee Weston, Eli Leonard, Dawson Harris, Alan Harris, Deven Harris, Luke Overby, Liam Overby, Jordan DeFranco-Overby, Elsie Overby, Parker Overby, and Lane Overby; two great-great-grandchildren, Madalynn Weston and Grayson Weston; two step-daughters, Linda Ensign and Brenda Hollenbeck; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her two husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Richard Brown, Francis Price, and Earnest Brown.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Connersville Baptist Temple with her grandson Pastor Doug Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery. Miller, Moster, Robbins have been entrusted with the arrangements.
