Janine M. Schaich, 66 of Abilene passed away February 27, 2024. She was born November 10, 1957 in Clay Center, Kansas, the daughter of Lyle and Beverley (Elssasser) Enyart. She graduated from Chapman High School in the class of 1975. On June 4, 1983 she was united in marriage to Russell D. Schaich at the Faith Lutheran Church in Abilene. Janine worked various jobs. She was a Para at the Abilene Middle School and High School. She was also executive director and activity director for the Sterling House. She also worked at Jostens. She was active at the Faith Lutheran Church, playing the organist for years and also was involved in being the youth group leader. Janine is survived by her husband, Russell. Her children: Joshua Capsey; Nichole Maddy and Brooke Haley and husband Brian. Grandchildren: Andrew, Hunter, Dylan and Katy Capsey; Lexie, Cara and Macy Maddy and Logan Haley. Her siblings: Jeannette Fenton; Jenise Braden; Collette Crist; Colleen Nicholas; Christine Herrmann; Carla Shaw and Tim Wieters. The family has chosen cremation. A Memorial Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Abilene. Services will be lives streamed on Facebook (Faith Lutheran – Abilene). A private family burial will be at the Greenridge Cemetery near Industry. The family suggests memorials be given to the Tammy Walker Cancer Foundation.
