Mr. Olin Garnett “Cuda” Curtis was born on Saturday, April 27, 1940, to both the late Mr. and Mrs. Amanda Curtis in Wrens (Jefferson County), GA. He entered eternal rest on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, GA.

At an early age, Olin joined the Wrens Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Wrens, GA. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army. He completed his military service and received an Honorable Discharge. “Cuda” as Olin was often called by family members and friends, moved to New Jersey with his mother and worked as a Welder for many years. He returned to Georgia and worked as a Mechanic at the Wrens Chevrolet until he retired. Olin loved to plant vegetable gardens, cook, and barbeque.

A man of few words, Olin was truly a kind spirit. He touched many hearts during his earthly walk. We understand that God knows best, and that he is now free of pain. We humbly pray to the Almighty that his transition to his new heavenly home on high was peaceful. Our dearly beloved Olin Garnett “Cuda” Curtis, we love you and we shall see you again one sweet day. In addition to is parents, Olin is preceded in death by three brothers, William Curtis, Herman Curtis, and George Curtis.

He leaves behind many heavy hearts to cherish his memory: a loving sister, Cynthia J. Smith of Hephzibah, GA; a loving brother, James Curtis of Cayce, SC; four favorite nieces, Barbara Smith, Judith Smith, Estelita Smith and Veronica Wiggins; a special friend, Willie Mae White of Wrens, GA; a host of additional nieces, several nephews, cousins, other family members and additional friends.
