Louis F. Paxson

<p>Louis F. Paxson, 68, of Telford, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at his residence. </p><p><br></p><p>Born April 20, 1955, in Doylestown, PA, he was the son of the late John W. Paxson II, and Doris M Henneke (ne Schmidt; formerly Mouery, then Paxson). Louis was a graduate of Central Bucks West High School class of 1973, played on the 1971-1972 undefeated championship football team, and was inducted into the CBW Sports Hall of Fame in October, 2022. In addition, he was a 3-year Letter winner at both baseball and football, and played in the Bucks County All Star Football Game in his Senior year. He then attended Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, Virginia from 1973-1974, where he received ‘All League Honors in Football and Baseball’ in the Virginia Military League. After he attended Staunton, he was recruited to play football at the University of Delaware. </p><p><br></p><p>Lou had a large happy-go-lucky personality that no one could forget. He was funny, entertaining, and could tell stories one after the other almost endlessly.</p><p>He had several interests during his life, from playing baseball, basketball, and football (his favorite sport!). He was a sports fan of many teams, and was glued to the TV screen to watch as many games as possible of the sports he loved. He also enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, coin-collecting, and studying the Bible. His personal traits included being selfless, kind, giving, altruistic, gentle, religious, and a lot of fun. Lou became a grandfather to his granddaughter in 2022, and that became his newest and most cherished activity, to visit and play with her.</p><p><br></p><p>Lou's career encompassed a varied work history. During his youth, he caddied for golfers at the Doylestown Country Club, Doylestown, PA; delivered newspapers for The Daily Intelligencer on his bicycle, also in Doylestown, PA; then segued into swimming pool service, demolition, gardening, restaurant service, and back to swimming pool and restaurant services up until his very last day. He loved to work, anytime, anywhere, and any type of work.</p><p><br></p><p>Louis is survived by his son, Anthony Michael Tucci Paxson (Claytie Peterson) and granddaughter Tonya Lux Tucci Paxson; sister Bonnie Lee Paxson-Christ (Dana Christ); brother John Watson Paxson III (Linda Paxson); brother Peter Howard Paxson (Mary Paxson); many nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Mae Henneke (formerly Mouery, then Paxson) and father John Watson Paxson II; foster mother, Mamie B. (Schaeffer) Moyer and foster father Raymond Moyer (who both loved and cared for Louis and his sister Bonnie from 1955-1963). He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Scott Paxson; and sister Frieda Mae (Mourey) Ament.</p><p><br></p><p>His religious affiliations were St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Doylestown, PA during his youth, and during the last 18 years, he attended Penn Valley Church, Telford, PA.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service and Celebration of Life beginning at 4:00p on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Penn Valley Church, 320 North Third Street, Telford, PA 18969, where friends may greet the family from 3:15p to 4:00p in the Foyer/Church Sanctuary. His Memorial Service will be in the Sanctuary at 4:00p until 4:45p. A meal will be served at 5:00p in the Coffee House of the church, after which the Celebration of Life will begin. A note of interest: Louis’s 69th heavenly birthday will be on Saturday, April 20th. His favorite color was yellow, so please feel free to wear anything yellow at the Memorial Service and Celebration of Life on April 19th if you attend; or even if you do not attend, you can wear yellow in honor of Louis that day, or on his actual birthday on April 20th.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Louis’ honor to St. Luke's Penn Foundation, 807 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 | Phone: 215.257.6551.
