A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley for Carita M. Sonnier, 77, who passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 6:03 P.M. at Encore Nursing Home in Crowley.

Fr. Mikel Polson, Pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Abshire Cemetery in Kaplan.

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume on Thursday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.

Survivors include three sons, Oday Paul Sonnier of Lafayette, John and wife, Donna Sonnier of Estherwood, and Daniel Sonnier and husband, Richard Rivera of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Bradley Hoffpauir and fiancé, Cristy of Tennessee, and Michelle Sonnier of Crowley.

Ms. Sonnier was preceded in death by her husband, Oday Sonnier; one son, James Sonnier; her parents, Daywood and Rita Menard; two brothers, Hilton, and Paul Menard; one sister, Dorris Granger.
