Donald “Hokey” John Thrush Jr, Age 56, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. Hokey was born on February 23, 1962 to Donald and Judith (Challender) Thrush in Lansing, Michigan. He was raised in the East Lansing area where he attended school and eventually graduated. He married his wife Tracey Hunt on July 16, 2013 at their home in Edmore. Hokey was employed as a carpenter for Bogart Construction Company for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes, coaching baseball, anything outdoors, NASCAR racing, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his dogs Rowdy and Kal. Hokey will be missed by his wife, Tracey; children, Jessica (Brett Cooper) Thrush of Punta Gorda, FL, Donald (Rachel) Thrush III of Trufant, Amber Thrush of Detroit, Jarrid (Danielle Ryckman) Thrush of Alma and Andrew (Tiayna Dalrymple) Thrush of Edmore; grandchildren, Isabell, Paiton and Alexis; Siblings, Tina (Allen) Fazette of Phenix, AZ, Steve (Laura) Thrush of Bristol, TN, Susan (Albert) Ledesma of Lansing, Frank Thrush of Lansing and Sally (Alan) of Prokopenko of Akron, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Judith Thrush. Services for Hokey will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at 1 PM at the First Church of God in Edmore with Pastor Steve Gulick officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday May 15, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore. Memorial contributions may be made to Tracey Thrush.
