Gerald “Jerry” William Hand, 67, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com

Jerry was born in Biloxi, Mississippi on November 22, 1956 to Ronald Leon Hand and Wanda Lee (McCall) Hand Bertella.  He grew up in Huntington Beach, California.  Jerry was a United States Navy Veteran, serving three years, he received his GED while serving in the Navy. He worked as a salesperson for Universal Engraving, Overland Park, Kansas. On September 15, 2018, Jerry married Lyndie Plummer Willhite in Shawnee, Kansas. He was best known for his sense of humor and friendly smile. Jerry enjoyed bird watching and he loved music, especially Frank Sanatra, Dean Martin, Country, old rock and the Eagles were his favorite band. Jerry enjoyed all War history and he loved trivia. 

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife Lyndie Hand of the home; father Ronald Hand, Lanham, Maryland; sons Josh (Noelle) Hand, Roseville, California and James (Valerie) Hand, Sacramento, California; step-children Austin (Shelby) Willhite, Olathe, Kansas and Heather (Kyle) Brummel, Ottawa, Kansas; brothers Russell (Cindy) Hand, Kansas City, Kansas and Dale (Sally) Pickett, De Soto, Kansas; sister Mona “Lisa” Hand (Serafin) Avitia IV  and grandchildren: Levi, Brandon, Harper, Cameron, Sydney, Adalyn, Ella and Aria.
