John F. Kraus, age 76, a resident of Dracut, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Mazurka) Kraus with whom he enjoyed 7 years of marriage.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 12, 1947, the oldest of 10 children, to the late Walter and Marie (Etzl) Kraus. Walter Thomas Kraus was born in Wadsworth, Ohio and Marie was born in Paterson, New Jersey.

John was employed as a mechanical engineer with Westinghouse and worked in the nuclear industry. John and Judith were married in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry in Bluffton, SC and were active members.

In addition to his loving wife, John is survived by his children, Mary Wickett and her husband George of Massachusetts, Joseph Kraus and his wife Marni of Florida, John D. Kraus and his wife Casandra of California, and Robert Kraus of South Carolina; his 12 grandchildren; his great grandchild; his siblings, Walter Kraus of Florida, Lisa (Kraus) Dykes and her husband Wayne of Alabama, Donald Kraus and his wife Linda of Florida, Rosemary (Kraus) Gregory and her husband Jerry of Florida, Steve Kraus of Michigan, Karen (Kraus) Kwaak of Florida, and Donna (Kraus) Funk and her husband Rich of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is predeceased by his brother, Andrew Kraus, and his sister, Mary Ellen Exley.

Funeral Services and Interment will be held privately.
