<p>Wilma F. Colburn (née Teague) passed away on Monday, February 26th, at the age of 69 at Lorien in Mt. Airy, MD.</p><p><br></p><p>Wilma was born on January 7th, 1955, in Mt. Airy, MD, the daughter of the late William A. Teague and Geraldine E. Teague (née Collins). </p><p><br></p><p>Wilma began her career as a proud working woman during her teenage years. She worked at The Mt. Airy Library and Myer’s Drug Store behind the soda fountain while still attending Linganore High School. </p><p><br></p><p>Upon graduating, Wilma worked for The Department of Energy at the Germantown branch for 5 years. </p><p>After working several other jobs, Wilma found her true calling as a Special Education Assistant at Mt. Airy Middle School. She touched many lives in this role, and her impact is still being felt today.</p><p><br></p><p>Wilma was also devoted to serving her community. She was a member of the Grand Chapter of Maryland-Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. She was also a Past President of the Mt. Airy Kiwanis Club. She was also a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Mr. Airy, MD.</p><p><br></p><p>Wilma is survived by her husband, William B. Colburn of Mt. Airy, MD, her son William B. Colburn Jr. And his wife, Regina K. Colburn of Lansdowne, PA.</p><p><br></p><p>She is also survived by a granddaughter, Lillian C. Colburn of Lansdowne, PA.</p><p><br></p><p>Wilma is also survived by her siblings Belinda K. Teague-Levy and husband Gary of Frederick, William B. Teague and wife Eileen of Huntingtown, MD, Melody J. Gray and husband Warren of Knoxville, MD, Warren G. Teague and wife Cecilia of Myersville, MD, Russell M. Teague and wife Jackie of Knoxville, MD., She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). </p><p><br></p><p>Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 10 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church 403 S. Main Street Mt. Airy, MD 21771. </p><p><br></p><p>Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.</p><p><br></p>
