Frances Barbara Magnotta (née Propato) passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born on November 25, 1936, as the only child to parents Giovanni “John” and Giovanna “Jenny” Propato in the Bronx, where she lived her entire life.

Frances loved nothing more than to be with her cherished family. She is survived by her loving husband, Agostino “Augie” of 68 years, daughter Laura (John) Flocco, son Michael (Katie); six grandchildren: Sally (Pat), Joseph, Giana (Peter), Angelina, Zoe and Alexandra; nine great-grandchildren: Sofia, Ava, Anthony, Olivia, Clare, Nile, Bryanna, Dahlia and Maya, and many loving extended family members and friends. She is predeceased in death by her great-grandson, Daniel Joseph.

A devout Catholic she was a longtime member of the Our Lady of Assumption parish in the Bronx. She was an active member of the Royal Arcanum, an organization dedicated to community service, serving in leadership roles, including Grand Regent of New York and Fraternal Director of the Supreme Council. She also had a long career as an executive assistant and office manager for several lawyers in Manhattan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, at Balsamo Funeral Home, 3188 Westchester Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 1634 Mahan Avenue, Bronx, NY 10461 on Tuesday, February 27, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx, NY 10465
