Agnes Salisbury Obituary

Maureen "Agnes" Salisbury went home to be with Jesus on February 23, 2024 at the age of 67. Agnes was born to Kenneth and Maureen Reay on December 6, 1956 in Watson, SK.

At the age of four, her mother passed away, leaving behind a husband and three kids. Kenneth met Margaret shortly after Maureen's passing. They married and had two more children.

Agnes attended school at Quill Lake, SK. After graduation she went to St. Peter's College in Muenster, SK and then she finished her four-year degree at the University of Saskatchewan to obtain her Bachelor of Education.

After convocation, Agnes drove a friend down to Star City, SK for a job interview. After her friend’s interview, Agnes was offered a practice interview and she ended up getting a job teaching there. In the fall of 1979, she began her teaching career at Star City School, and she taught there until she retired in 2014. After 35 years of teaching, she wasn't ready to fully retire so she subbed until 2018, when her second grandchild was born - at this time she decided to fully retire.

Agnes met Dan Salisbury at church shortly after she moved to Star City, and they were married on July 4, 1981. They welcomed three sons: David, Kevin, and Ian.

At the beginning of their marriage they lived in Star City, later moving to the Salisbury family farm. Agnes's love for her family was obvious in her everyday life. Agnes was proud of David’s accomplishments throughout his life, most recently seeing him pursue his dream of becoming a paramedic. She was excited to gain two daughters through marriage, and even more excited when the grandchildren started to arrive. Ian married Kim Cooper and together they have four children: Kade, Lyla, Dane and Bria; Kevin married Kara Wiebe and together they have one child: Hayden. Agnes's 5 grandchildren were her pride and joy; she loved to show photos and tell stories about them to anyone who was interested. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Agnes is predeceased by her parents: Maureen, Margaret and Kenneth and her siblings: Malcom and Colleen.

She is survived by her husband Dan; her sons and daughters-in-law: David, Kevin (Kara), and Ian (Kim); her grandchildren: Kade, Lyla, Dane, Bria and Hayden; her brothers and their families: Tom (Vannessa, Ben, Matthew, Becky and Clayton) and Bill (Mary and Hannah); along with many extended family members.
