<p>IVOL, ROGER</p><p>August 9, 1942 – February 19, 2024</p><p>It is with great sadness we announce that Roger passed away peacefully at St Joseph’s Hospital, at the</p><p>age of 81 years. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ann. Lovingly remembered by: son Chris (Cheryl) and predeceased by his son Andrew (2018). Roger will be remembered by special friend Shawn (Frances); sister Grace (Henry); brother Aldo; sister-in-law Maureen; nephew Jay (Kelly); nieces Jessie (Chris) and Shannon (Easton). Roger was a retired teacher of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. His volunteer work was an important aspect of his life. He volunteered for Big Brothers of Hamilton, Ostomy Canada Society – founding editor of “Ostomy Canada” magazine and advisor to other ostomy chapters, Hamilton &amp; District Ostomy Association – President and a qualified visitor and trainer for ostomy patients. His great love was trout fishing in pristine streams and rivers. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell) on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Service of Remembrance will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 11 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton &amp; District Ostomy Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.</p><p><br></p>
