Sally A Walsh was born on December 1, 1928. She passed on

February 21, 2024.

Sally was a graduate of Pittston Hospital Nursing School. She received her bachelors from Hunter College. She had great stories about living in a brownstone with her friends while working @ St Johns.

She and her husband Dick bought their house in Brentwood in 1957. She worked nights as a nurse and bowled on a ladies team in the evening. Between her and her friends Irene and Stella, they had eyes on every kid in the neighborhood. She loved her friends at the Brentwood Homemakers. If they weren’t having a party they were on the bus to Atlantic City (and bringing the party with them!).

She was always bringing family and friends together. Sally started the annual tradition of The Philharmonic at Heckscher Park. Cars packed with kids, strollers and coolers listening to classical music. Sally put love into everything she did, from crafting custom cakes for her grandchildren, teaching them how to cook, crochet and spread kindness everywhere she went. She was also the Go-To person for party supplies. She’d loan out chairs, coolers, extension cords and lights, of course red solo cups too all with “Sally” written in black magic marker. If you were very lucky, she’d swing by with a cake for the celebration!

Our love for her will continue to bring us all closer in her honor as we celebrate living life just as she did. With love, kindness and a nice cold coke!

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Eileen Burns.
