<p>Darwin Lee McAfee, 94, of Front Royal, VA passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at Shenandoah Senior Living, Front Royal, VA.&nbsp; </p><p>Mr. McAfee was born in Plattsmouth, NE on January 8, 1930, a son of the late Nobel Dean and Frieda Lydia Sophia Schmidt McAfee.&nbsp; He was the husband of the late Edna Pauline Parks McAfee.&nbsp; Darwin lived a full life of dedication to God, Family and Country. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served 21 years in the US Army Intelligence as well as two tours in Vietnam.&nbsp; He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and 2 Silver Stars among other metals of accommodation.&nbsp; He was the most positive and optimistic person you could ever meet.&nbsp; His love of people, Friends and Family were obvious to all who met him.&nbsp; He was a hugger and had the gift of Gab.&nbsp; I'm sure you know what I mean if you had ever met him.&nbsp; He dedicated many years and finances&nbsp; &nbsp; to helping others all around the world through various charities.&nbsp; He and Edna worked together on many projects for feeding and housing the hungry.&nbsp; Darwin and his wife Edna gave of their time and finances to make a difference in this world, and it showed. Be happy for him.&nbsp; He is now free from the worldly bounds.&nbsp; In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter Kerri Lynn McAfee. </p><p>Survivors include his children Kevin McAfee (Kimberly), Lee McAfee (Sara), and Kristin Cederborg; his grandchildren Sarah McAfee, Emma Vioral, Aaron McAfee, and Jordan Salyards; one sister Marilyn Hall. </p><p>A celebration of life service for Mr. McAfee will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Reliance United Methodist Church.&nbsp; Mr. McAfee along with his wife will be laid to rest at Culpepper National Cemetery.&nbsp; The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.&nbsp; </p><p>The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Society of St. Andrews, 3383 Sweet Hollow Rd, Big Island, VA 24526 or the Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202. </p><p>You may sign the guestbook and submit your condolences to the family at www.stoverfuneralhome.com.&nbsp; </p><p>Stover Funeral Home and Crematory, Strasburg, VA is serving the family of Darwin Lee McAfee. </p>
