Robin Mahan Hancock Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts the family of Robin Hancock announces her unexpected passing on Tuesday evening, February 20, 2024.

Robin was born in Danville, VA on August 29, 1957. Robin was the eighth child of the late Oscar Mahan and Eloise A. Mahan. She was a graduate of Chatham High School and Averett University. She is survived by her beloved son Lee Mahan of Chatham, her sisters Dale Haley and Karen Brown of Danville, Audrey Fox of Chatham, and special friend and brother-in-law Bill Fox of Chatham, and brother, Blair Mahan of Powhatan, VA.

Robin was predeceased by her second son Robert Hancock; sisters, Carolyn Mahan, and Betty Mahan; and brother O.W. Mahan.

Robin believed in Jesus Christ and the power of God. She had angels watching over her throughout her life. She faced many obstacles and was truly always a survivor to the end.

Robin loved children, animals, her family, and spending time at the ocean. It is truly heartbreaking to lose Robin, but in the hard days to come her family will seek comfort and solace knowing she is with God, her son, mother, and those who have passed. We will forever miss her presence and with her passing has come a huge void in our hearts. We know she is at peace and at rest.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the Fox family cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request you consider in her honor the SPCA of Pittsylvania County, PO Box 936, Chatham, VA 24531.
