Elisha David Reed

<p>Elisha David (E.D.) Reed, 83 of Woodbine, MD passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family February 20, 2024. E. D was born on July 12th, 1940, in Poplar Springs MD. He was the son of the late Effie (Cook) Reed and Rev. Clyde E. Reed.</p><p>He was the beloved and devoted husband of Gail (Pickett) Reed for 25 years. E.D. was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was stationed on the U.S.S. Nanahola during the Vietnam War. Following his departure from the Navy, E.D. worked as a correctional officer at the Maryland House of Corrections for 30 years before retiring. </p><p>E.D. was predeceased by his daughter Tammy Kay (Reed) Tiffany, as well as siblings Mac Henry Reed, Dean Burkett Reed, Gertrude Inez Lewis, Jesse Clifton Reed, Bertha Lee Miller and Barbara May Beall and granddaughter Cheyenne Carroll. </p><p>He is survived by daughter Bonnie Porras and stepchildren Chuck Carroll and Judy Carroll. Grandchildren Rachel Reed, Pamela Crouse, Janet Reed, Stephanie Sekulski, Heather Lowe, Ashley Seymer, Darrell Hippler, Angela Porras, Daniel Porras, Jennifer Sension, Stacy Tiffany and Brittany Brannon. He is also survived by his 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. </p><p>Elisha was a loving grandfather who had a particular soft spot for dance parties with his great-granddaughter Gwendalyn and taking is great-grandson Dylan to play on the swings.</p><p>He was an excellent father figure to Rachel, and he will be incredibly missed. </p><p>A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.</p><p>Donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors or the MD School for the Blind Autism program in honor of Corey Dylan Woods.</p><p>Online condolences at www.burrier-queen.com </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
