<p>Patrick Edward Taylor Sr. (1950-2024)</p><p>Akron born Blues Musician and Proud Irish-American Patrick “Paddy” Taylor has passed away</p><p>peacefully on February 20th 2024 at the age of 73.</p><p>Paddy was born in Akron, OH on November 5th 1950 to Floyd and Marilyn Taylor. A Wildcat</p><p>Graduate of Central High School in Akron in 1968, he went on to play music with The Business</p><p>Blues Band, Fergie and the Bog Dogs, the Akron Ceili Band, and the Deep South Akron All</p><p>Stars while working at various jobs in construction and retail sales. Known as Paddy in the Irish</p><p>American Community and long time member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Akron, he</p><p>formed the Akron Celtic Guards Hurling and Camogie Club in 2003 and could be found proudly</p><p>sporting a Cork GAA Jersey at any event.</p><p>Paddy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Thomas, sister Lorene, and grandchild</p><p>Reed. He is survived by his wife Deborah of 39 years, his children Ann (Kevin) Verde, Alyssa</p><p>Taylor, Tara (Todd) Compher, and Patrick (Coleen) Taylor, and his grandchildren Aidan, Ben,</p><p>Grace, Rory, Dylan, and Maddox. He is also survived by his brothers Lawrence, Michael, and</p><p>Paul, and his many friends that he has made along the way.</p><p>We love you, Dad. Give ‘em the blizzard!</p><p>The Family would like to thank University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and the Acute</p><p>Palliative Care Unit at Summa Hospital in Akron for their compassionate care throughout Dad’s</p><p>battle and providing comfort in his final days. Also, many thanks to Fr. Chris and the other</p><p>many priests, deacons, and prayers that comforted Dad in his time of need.</p><p>In lieu of flowers, it would be Dad’s wishes to support live music - go see a show, concert,</p><p>musical, or anything else that supports live music and the arts.</p><p>Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 27th 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dunn-Quigley Funeral</p><p>Home at 811 Grant St. Akron, OH 44311.</p><p>A Catholic Mass will be held Wednesday, February 28th 10:00 AM at St. Bernard’s Church at</p><p>44 University Ave Akron, OH 44308 immediately followed by a traditional Irish Wake and</p><p>session at the Ancient Order of Hibernians 2000 Brown St. Akron, OH 44319.</p>

Akron born Blues Musician and Proud Irish-American Patrick “Paddy” Taylor has passed away

Paddy was born in Akron, OH on November 5th 1950 to Floyd and Marilyn Taylor. A Wildcat
