<p>Argyle</p><p><br></p><p>Edward Joseph Martino, 93, of Argyle passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness. </p><p><br></p><p>Born on July 18, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Edward and Emmy Martino.</p><p><br></p><p>Ed graduated from High School and went to St. John University. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He married Phyllis (Platt) in New York City and was a detective for the New York City District Attorney’s office. Upon retiring the couple moved to the Argyle Area where he became a consultant to the Racing and Wagering Board at the Saratoga Harness Track.</p><p><br></p><p>He enjoyed living on his farm in Argyle surrounded by the couples thoroughbred horses and dogs. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ed had a love for St. John’s Basketball and enjoyed watching their games. </p><p><br></p><p>Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Dillon. </p><p><br></p><p>Left to cherish his memory besides his wife of almost 6 decades, include his daughter, Gail Martino- Johnson and son-in-law, David Johnson of Laconia, NH; his grandchildren: David, Peter and Brian; his great grandsons, Yadon and Natsar; several nieces, nephews and cousins, especially his cousin James, whom he shared a special relationship with and his dear friends, Scott, Jody, Kevin and Gilbert.</p><p><br></p><p>At Ed's request there will be no calling hours or formal services.</p><p><br></p><p>Donations may be made in his memory to Argyle Emergency Squad, 15 Sheridan Street, Argyle, NY 12809.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are in the care of the M.B.
