Lynnetta Ruth Fowler Obituary

Lynnetta Ruth Fowler, 82, of Crossett, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.  She was born in Minden, Louisiana on December 6, 1941, to her parents, Dick and Gertrude Atwell.

A proud 1960 graduate of Crossett High School, Lynnetta went on to pursue her passion for history at the University of Arkansas, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. At U of A, she was a proud member of Alpha Delta Phi and even graced the campus as a Razorback Beauty.

Beyond her professional roles as a social worker and teacher for several years, Lynnetta was a fantastic mother and housewife, creating a warm and loving home for her family, the neighborhood children, to whom she provided comfort and guidance, and her beloved grandchildren who stole her heart.

She was a fabulous cook, an avid reader, and a serious movie buff.  She also enjoyed coffee time with her girlfriends and spending quality time with her family.

Lynnetta dedicated herself to her faith as a devout member and deaconess at Freedom Ministries, where she found solace and community. Her unwavering love for the Lord, Jesus Christ, was evident in every aspect of her life.

Her joyful spirit and radiant smile brightened the lives of those around her.  She faced life's challenges with a joyous heart, never complaining but instead spreading warmth and happiness wherever she went.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers, David Gail Atwell, and Richard “Dickey” Atwell.

She leaves behind her husband of fifty-nine years, Earnest Wesley Fowler, of Crossett; one son, David Wesley Fowler (Lidia Adriana) of Springdale; and one daughter, Kelly Suzan Anderson (Jim) of Monroe, LA; along with one sister, Martha Ann Atwell of El Dorado, AR; six grandchildren, Maggie and Peyton Remoy, and Hezrai Wesley, Enoch Eliam, Jahleel Abiezer, and Jahdiel Elhanan Fowler; one nephew, Scott Harrison; and three nieces, Terri Ewing (John), Tammie Lust (Greg), and Tracie Rust (Robert).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 23rd, at Freedom Ministries, 221 West Pierce St. in Crossett, with Pastor Robert Jones, and David Fowler, officiating, followed by interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Hezrai and Enoch Fowler, Keith Cooper, Andy Minga, Christian Hamilton, and Paul Brown.  Honorary pallbearers are Bob Vickers and Jim Anderson.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Freedom Ministries.
