James "Jim" Kenneth "Kenny" Roney, 87, husband of the late Phyllis Johnson Roney died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born April 28, 1936 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Owen and Nettie Taylor Roney. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, retired as Plant Supervisor after twenty-eight years at Sylvania in Versailles, was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, a lifelong farmer, and will always be remembered as a devoted husband and father.

Survivors include one son Doug (Kathy) Roney of Frankfort, one daughter Andrea Modica of Denver, CO. and five granddaughters also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. John David Lane officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Spring Hill Cemetery with Robby Taylor, Todd Collier, Tony Thompson, Donald Sexton, David Sexton and Larry Purvis serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
