George Edward Lehman

<p>George Edward Lehman, 85, of Port Royal, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on May 20, 1938, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Nevin and Margaret (Dolan) Lehman. On September 11, 1964, he married his beloved wife, Constance “Connie” J. (Shawley) Lehman, who preceded him in death on June 16, 2016, after sharing nearly 52 years of marriage together. </p><p><br></p><p>George proudly served his country in the United States Army from October 19, 1961, until he was honorably discharged on October 4, 1963. During his time in the service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, he went to work for the Iron Workers Union Local 404 out of Harrisburg. He retired after 38 years. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by a daughter, Karen Sue Lehman (Francis “David” Conklin) of Pleasant Gap, a brother, John Lehman of Port Royal, and a sister, Dottie “Sis” Gilliland of Mifflintown. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his wife, Connie, and parents, Nevin and Margaret, he was predeceased by a son Randy L. Lehman in 2009, and two brothers, Jerry and Bob Lehman. </p><p><br></p><p>George enjoyed spending time with his dogs, detailing cars, and fishing. </p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of George to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828. </p>
