Darlene Betty Jackson Obituary

Darlene Jackson passed away peacefully February 19th, 2024 at the Russell Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Darlene was born in Winnipeg on March 9th, 1965 to Tom & Betty Bauereiss.  She was baptized into the Lutheran faith & has remained a faithful member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Inglis.

Soon after Darlene was born, the family moved to the Inglis area for a short time before setting their roots in the Dropmore area where she grew up & graduated from high school in Roblin.

In 1983 Darlene married Grant Andrews & they welcomed son, Justin later the same year. Sadly, the family lost Grant in an accident in 1984.

Darlene moved her home to Inglis where she and Garth started their life together in July 1987. Garth and Darlene married and began a partnership that would grow their farm to the successful cattle/grain operation it is today.  Along the way Darlene worked multiple jobs throughout the Inglis and Russell communities while volunteering on numerous boards and committees.  On their family farm, they developed their partnership with Curt and Eunice Koss, and the Weathervane Inn was born. At the Inn guests often became close friends.

Becoming a counsellor for the RM of Riding Mountain West was a position Darlene was very proud of, again serving her community until very recently.

Preparing for retirement, Darlene and Garth have been building a new home down at Prairie Lake Lodge, and have become a part of another family. A combination of old and new friends that Darlene cherished dearly.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Garth, and her son, Justin, brother Brett Bauereiss (Jennifer), brother Carman Bauereiss (Kerri), father-in-law Stanley Jackson, sister-in-law Wendy Jackson, brother-in-law Grant Jackson (Arla), sister-in-law Linda Jackson, many nieces & nephews as well as many members of the Andrews family.

Darlene was predeceased by her first husband Grant Andrews, her parents Tom & Betty Bauereiss, nephew Wyatt Bauereiss, mother-in-law Carol Jackson, brother-in-law George Bergman and many other family & friends.
