Services for Garry Dane Locke, 65, of Athens, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with a private family interment following.

“Buffy” passed on February 18, 2024, in Athens.

Garry Dane Locke was born July 8, 1958, in Athens, Texas, the son of Larry Wayne Locke and Mattie Sue (Pierce) Locke. In Garry’s younger years he started off working in the oilfield but was a construction worker by trade where he ran heavy equipment for Texas Bit for many years in the Dallas Area. He loved spending his free time outdoors fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Terry Dwayne Locke; sister Mary Jane Locke and his brother-in-law Tommy Chitty.

Uncle Buff is survived by his loving girlfriend Heather LaFond; siblings Sherri Chitty, Kerry Locke and Valrie Bumpus. nieces and nephews Deke Crutchfield and wife Michelle, Jacob Chitty and wife Tanya, Jerry Locke and wife Jenn, Copper Locke, Courtney Chitty and Mitch Riddle, Kristin Locke; great nieces and nephews, Justin Hairgrove and wife Joanna, Jeremy Crutchfield and wife Zoë, Brook Locke, Dylan Chitty, Aubrey Chitty, Adelynn Jackson, Armani Jackson and Colton Bock; great great-nieces and nephews, Taitum Loden, Kayson Hairgrove, Dawson Hairgrove, Kinsley Hairgrove, Dakota Bock and Bexley Bock.

Serving as pallbearers are Deke Crutchfield, Justin Hairgrove, Jeremy Crutchfield, Jerry Locke, Jacob Chitty, Dylan Chitty, Mitch Riddle and Kerry Locke.

Honorary pallbearer will be JT Trammell.

A visitation will be held 9-11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
