Polly Sutton Wilson Obituary

Elon – Polly Ann Sutton Wilson, 77, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Blakey Hall. She was born in Alamance County on June 3, 1940 to the late John Thomas Sutton and Lena Myrtle Brown Sutton and was survived by Richard Worth Wilson, her husband of 59 years. Polly retired as the owner/operator of Colonial Heritage Gifts and Decorative Accessories in Burke, VA. She and her husband, Richard worked together in this gift shop while they lived in Virginia. Polly enjoyed sewing and was a long time member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She was survived by her husband Richard, her daughters Nancy Ann Miller and Caren Lynn Lyell and son-in-law, John Lyell. Grandsons are Brennan Miller, Nicholas Lyell and John Lyell. Siblings are Marjorie Foster, Gaynelle McCollum, John Daniel Sutton and Shelvia Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, John Harold Sutton, Mary Pauline Gross, Billie Benolken, Velma Elizabeth Sutton and Thomas Sutton. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Fairview United Methodist Church by Rev. Dr. S. Mark Clark. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Wednesday. The family is grateful for the “Blakey Hall Family” for all their love, care and compassion that was shown to Polly and her family during her illness.
