“Gone from us that smiling face, the cheerful happy ways; the heart
that won so many friends, in bygone happy days. A life made beautiful by
kindly deeds, a helping hand for others needs. To a beautiful life comes a
happy end, she died as she lived, everyones friend.”
Lesa Lynn Sproul passed away on February 15 th , 2024 following a short,
unforeseen illness. She was the beloved wife of William Sproul with whom
she shared 19 years of marriage.
Born in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of Thomas Heald and
Carole Caler. Lesa graduated from Deering High School and furthered her
education at Pierre’s School of Beauty where she received her
cosmetology license. From there she owned and operated multiple salons
throughout her lifetime.
Aside from being a beautician, Lesa was an active member in her
community where she organized and participated in town events, parades,
and gatherings. She loved and cared for kids of all ages and was a beloved
teacher at Cherryfield Elementary School.
Lesa had a passion for style and music, and although she was very
creative and enjoyed working with her hands she will be remembered most
by her fierce ability to love. Her love for her husband, children and
grandchildren was without measure. Known to her grandchildren as Gigi,
she would stop at nothing to ensure they always felt her unrivaled love and
devotion.
Lesa had a kind and giving heart. She was always willing to lend a listening
ear, give a word of encouragement, or to those who needed comfort, she
was a reassuring hug. Her tenderhearted character shined in all aspects of
her life. Often referred to as Mama Lesa, her umbrella of motherhood
reached far beyond her nuclear family, impacting countless people with her
infectious warmth.
