Janice Vest Obituary

Janice "Jan" Vest, age, 79 went to be with her Lord on February 14, 2024.

Jan was born August 8, 1944 in Fountain Green, MD to the late William Louis Quinn and Myrtle Ruth (Moxley) Quinn. She was also preceded in death by her only sibling, David Louis Quinn, whom she called DaDa, her husband, Doug Vest, and two grandchildren, William Cadorette and Summer Cadorette.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Cadorette and Donna Trigger; a son, Bob Ginger; a step- daughter Teresa Roberts; a friend, Turtle Booth whom she considered and treated as a son; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She married "the love of her life" Doug Vest in 1995 and they were married for 26 years before he passed away. Jan worked 32 years as a civilian at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD as a writer/editor for all types of government documents. She then worked 18 years as an LLC for Barbara Weyandt and Judi Schmitt as a writer/editor for Department of Defense documents.

She loved spending time with her family, playing cards and games with them, and playing bingo with her special friend Janie O'Connor.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. John Ballard officiating. Entombment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Clifford (Turtle) Booth, Leo (Boo) Cadorette, Jimmy Stewart, Ben Ginger, Leo (Walt) Cadorette, and William Cadorette.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from noon until time of service at Temple Baptist Church.
