Cora Cantrell Obituary

Cora Mae Cantrell, 93, of Elizabethtown was born November 17, 1930, to the late Joseph and Pinkie Ellen Brown of Hodgenville and entered her heavenly home on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

She was a member of Younger’s Creek Baptist Church in Elizabethtown and loved gardening, flowers, sewing and reading.

Cora was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Charles Edward Cantrell; three brothers; seven sisters and a grandson, Ronald Edward Cooper.

She is survived by two sons, James (Brenda) Cantrell of Summersville and Bobby (Joyce Burns) Cantrell of Springfield; six daughters, Marsha Cooper of Mendota, IL, Veneda Carre of Winter Springs, FL, Esther Jean (Don) Miller of Elizabethtown, Marie (Doug) Michell of Elizabethtown, Ruth (Chuck Brown) Cantrell of Elizabethtown and Ellen (Chris) Ray of Elizabethtown and a brother-in-law, William “Bill” Taylor of Williamsburg. Cora was a devoted grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, at Friendship Baptist Church #2 near Hodgenville with Bro. Ron Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
