Paul J. Herman Obituary

North Smithfield - Paul J. Herman, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 in Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Joan J. (Gramolini) Herman of North Smithfield. Paul and Joan were married for 61 years. 

Born in Woonsocket, son of the late Peter and Anastasia (Bardell) Herman. 

He was a United States Marine Veteran serving in Vietnam.

Paul worked as a Compositor for the Woonsocket Call for several years. He also worked in construction for Promac and in the Maintenance Department for the Woonsocket School Department prior to retiring. 

He was a member of the Italian Workingmen’s Club and a lifelong member of the YMCA. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid New York Giants fan. In High school he played football, basketball and baseball.

Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by his one sister, Priscilla Herman. One sister-in-law, Norma Lariviere. Three brothers-in-law, Roger , Ronald, and Rodney Gramolini along with their wives Angela, Lise and Christine and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:30 AM in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home 1583 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 10-11:30AM prior to the service. Burial will be private. sdipardomcfh.com
