Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Judy A. Abshire, 62, who passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10:15 A.M. at St. Joseph Carpenter House in Lafayette.

Fr. Louie Richard will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Abshire Cemetery in Rural Kaplan.

The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Sunday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00 A.M. until time of service.

Survivors include one brother, Terry Abshire of Baker; her extended family, Larry and wife, Karen Maynard of Crowley, Johnny and wife, Tina Maynard of Thibodeaux, Billy Maynard and Earline Cormier of Mire, Chris Maynard of Crowley; numerous, nieces, nephews, and Godchildren; and her beloved pets, Scoobie, Gabby Girl, Roux Roux, and Minou.

Ms. Abshire was preceded in death by her significant other, Margaret Maynard; her parents, Pierre Abshire, and Marie LeBouff Abshire; one brother, Billy Abshire; one sister, Betty Terrebonne; one brother-in-law, Bert Terrebonne; extended family members, Bob and wife, LuLu Maynard; Gerald and wife, Diane Maynard, Olive “Gal” and husband, Lovelace Matthews, Mary Maynard and Helen Maynard.

Pallbearers for the service will be her Acadian Ambulance Family, Clay Henry, Blane Comeaux, Chad Doucet, Leighton Guilbeau, Blaise Dupuis, and John Mrak. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Burney, and Jon Scott.
