Carolyn Marie Badstuebner, 92, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Carolyn was born in Hartford on September 15, 1931 to Albert Thomas Conley and Helen Craig Kane. Carolyn spent her youthful years growing up in Ellington and Rockville. She was a 1949 graduate of Rockville High School. Carolyn married the love of her life, Frank, on June 5, 1954. and enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage until Frank's passing in March, 2012. Carolyn lived in Willimantic and Manchester and after marrying, relocated to Coventry where she and Frank raised their 4 boys Don, Wayne, Craig and Alan. Carloyn worked at Aetna Life and Pratt and Whitney and after raising her 4 boys, worked for many years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in South Windsor until her retirement. During her retirement years Carolyn enjoyed traveling. She and Frank were Gold Members of the Captains Club on the cruise circuit. They cruised extensively through the Eastern and Western Caribbean, the Panama Canal and including cruises to Alaska and Hawaii. She also traveled overseas to Europe including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Carolyn was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Carolyn was a spiritual woman attending services weekly. She was involved with the local food pantry and social services donating her time to comfort and feed those in need. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Frank. She is survived by her children Don and Michelle of Coventry, Wayne and Donna of Columbia, Craig and Gail of Westbrook and Alan and Christie Triquart of Issaquah, WA along with 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Calling hours and service will be Saturday March 9th 12:00PM-2:00PM at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St, Vernon-Rockville, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carolyn's honor to the Cornerstone Foundation, Inc., 15 Prospect St. P.O. Box 3, Vernon, CT 06066.
