Pete Grantham, 86, of Athens, passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, February 8, 2024, in Athens.

Luther White “Pete” Grantham was born February 11, 1937, in Holmes County, Mississippi, the son of Etha Mae (White) Grantham. Pete spent his entire career as a Field Service Technician for National Cash Register, where he would later retire after 41 years of dedicated service in 1997. He married the love of his life, Margie (McDowell) Grantham in May 1963 and in their free time they loved being outdoors and spending time with family. In his late 50’s Pete began his next passion becoming an avid horseman, where he was also an amateur champion cutting horse rider. Pawpaw dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grandson Owen Grant Lipscomb.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years Margie Grantham of Athens; two children, Alan Grantham and wife Natalie of Marshall, Julia Grantham Sykes of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Amanda Lipscomb and Kyle, Catherine Grantham, Sarah Bals and Jason, Bradley Sykes; great grandchildren Cora Bals, Luna Bals, Atlas Bals.
