<p>FOLKERTSMA, Shirley (Ritsma), 83 on February 15, of North Haledon. Born in the Netherlands, Shirley immigrated to the United States in 1960. Before moving to North Haledon she had lived in Prospect Park. She was a homemaker of her family and loved to do gardening and to do handwork including needlepoint and crochet. Shirley was a member of Rockpoint Community Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Ike Folkertsma who passed away in 2015. Loving mother of Jim and his wife Chris, and Steven Folkertsma. Dear grandmother of Ryan and Alyssa. Sister of Susan Laauwe, Ralph Ritsma and the late William Ritsma.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends and family at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 10:00AM till 12:00 PM.
