SEIB: Georgette

July 22, 1935 – February 13, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georgette Seib, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Born on July 22, 1935, Georgette lived a full life until her passing on February 13, 2024 at Manitou Lodge in the Watrous District Health Complex, Watrous, Saskatchewan at the age of 88 years.

Georgette was born in the Allan district, the first born, to George and Angeline Jouan. She was the big sister to brothers, Albin and Don. The family moved to Young, Saskatchewan, where the kids could attend school. After graduation, Georgette completed teachers college in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Her first teaching assignment was in June Rose School, a Grade 1 to Grade 8 country school. She then went on to teach in both Simpson and Govan before marrying William (Bill) Seib and moving to the farm in the Young District.

Georgette loved her family and flowers. She spent numerous hours sewing for the kids and she always made sure there was warm baking for her kids and grandkids when they returned home from school. She maintained a large and productive garden, always dedicating a space for her beloved flowers.

Georgette is survived by her spouse of 63 years, Bill and her children Greg (Kelly), Sharon (Dwight), Laverne (Mark), Allen (Arlette) and grandchildren Stephani, Warren, Marina, Andrea, Charlotte and Teresa.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at Fotheringham’s Funeral Chapel, Watrous, SK on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Reception for friends and family followed at the Watrous Seniors Drop-In Centre. Interment in Bethel Cemetery will take place at a later date.
