John Morris Ward, 97, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Baptist Attala in Kosciusko.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Kosciusko First United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Kosciusko City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at the First Methodist Church.

John Morris is survived by his son John Morris Ward, Jr., his grandchildren Michael Ward (Allison), Stephen Ward (Laura), Kimberly Keizur (Shaun) and Matthew Ward, and his great grandchildren Elliana, Adeline, Amelia, Zoe, Baker, Ebon, and Ashlynn.

John Morris was a retired Accountant, having worked for the Attala Company in Kosciusko.

He was an active member of First Methodist Church having served in numerous capacities within the Church. He was also a U S Army Veteran of World War II. He had been active with Habitat for Humanity, the Kosciusko Historical Society, Walk to Emaus, and Boy Scouts of America. He was an Author himself and helped with the Attala County History book.

John Morris was preceded in death by his wife, Clotea Johnson Ward, his parents, Ebon and Lettie Lowery Ward, brothers Ebon Ward, Jr. and Douglas Ward, sisters Mary Catherine Patterson, Frances Cheek, Lettie Golson, Empress Christine Ward and Dorothy Haney, and daughter Sandra Gail Ward.
