Virginia Ann Covington (nee Lehr), age 61, of Westminster, MD formally of Kearneysville, WV passed away February 12, 2024. She was born on August 21, 1962 to the late Clarence G. Lehr Jr and the late Edwina Bogue Lehr. She was the loving wife of Michael Covington who passed away in 2021. Virginia graduated from Shepherd College, now Shepherd University, with a degree in elementary education in 1985. She received 2 master’s degrees from McDaniel College. She was an elementary teacher at Hampstead Elementary for many years. She later became a guidance counselor and retired from Frederick County Schools . Virginia loved the beach and spending time with her friends. She is survived by sisters Susan Lehr of Surfside Beach, SC, Robin Lehr of Frederick, MD and brother, James and his wife Katie of Blue Ridge Summit, PA. She is also survived by her nephews, Spencer Barnes and his wife Allie, Benjamin Barnes, Colby Nguyen, Luke Lehr and Dylan Spearin and nieces, Lily Lehr, Abby Spearin and Bella Spearin and her dog, Dax. Friends can visit Eline Funeral Home, 934 S Main Street, Hampstead, MD on February 19, 2024 from 9-11am , followed by a memorial service and a graveside burial at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
