<p>Janice Mabel Clark LaFrance, 77, of Berwick, passed away February 11, 2024 after a short, courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 17, 1947 in York, ME to Horace and Blanche (Mace) Clark.</p><p><br></p><p>Janice graduated from Berwick High School. She worked as a Nurse's Aide in Orlando, FL; for General Electric in Somersworth, NH; Somersworth Shoe in Somersworth, NH; and as a Bookkeeper in Berwick, ME. She married Paul B. LaFrance on April 13, 1973.</p><p><br></p><p>Janice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a compassionate and outgoing nature, and was very charitable with her time and talents. She raised many thousands of dollars for various causes through her volunteering. She loved to relax at the family camp while spending time with family and friends. She also loved to attend her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, school concerts, and other activities. She was an avid reader of Stephen King and enjoyed playing bingo and scratching lottery tickets. She was a collector of M&amp;M memorabilia and Beanie Babies, as well as, coins for her grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Janice was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #1887, having served as NH State Auxiliary President in 2012-13. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 69.</p><p><br></p><p>Janice was preceded in death by: her parents, Horace and Blanche Clark; brother, Dennis Clark; and sister, Lena Marie Clark. She is survived by: her loving husband of 50 years, Paul LaFrance of Berwick; son, Kirk Hassen of Berwick; daughter, Paula (LaFrance) Beeler and her husband, Brian of Berwick; two sisters, Kathy Clark and her partner, Bab Lahr of Berwick and Georgia Letendre of Greenwood, SC; brother, Rudy Clark and his wife, Donna of Portland, ME; four grandchildren, Ren Hassen of Gonic, NH, Kierra Hassen of Millinocket, ME, Aidan Beeler of Berwick, and Eva Beeler of Berwick; as well as, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janice's name may be made to Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #1887, 4 Somersworth Plaza, Somersworth, NH 03878 to be donated to the Mass General Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank the Mass General Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Cornerstone VNA Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion over the last year.</p><p><br></p><p>Visiting hours will be held from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 62 Cemetery Rd., Berwick.</p>
