Anderson</p><p>August 20, 1950 - January 23, 2024</p><p>Murrieta, California</p><p>Malcolm Anderson, born in Kansas City, MO, to the late Malcolm and Stina Anderson, passed away</p><p>on January 23rd in his sleep of natural causes. Malcolm is survived by his son, Evan Anderson</p><p>(Chelsea), two grandchildren Sunny and Archer, brothers Anthony and Christopher Anderson, and</p><p>three nephews and three nieces.</p><p>A graduate of Wheaton Christian High School, Malcolm went on to have distinguished service in the</p><p>U.S. Navy and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State Polytechnic</p><p>University, Pomona.</p><p>During his six years of service in the U.S. Navy, Malcolm graduated from nuclear power school in</p><p>Idaho and served on the fast-attack nuclear-powered submarine USS Pintado as the nuclear</p><p>reactor operator. Malcolm received the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit</p><p>Commendation, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and First Good Conduct Award. Malcolm’s submarine</p><p>service was based in San Diego and took him all over the world over the oceans and under the polar</p><p>caps in defense of his country. Once, while home on leave in Kansas City, his mother remarked</p><p>with love that he had a glow about him, to which Malcolm replied, “Mom, I sleep next to the Trident</p><p>Nuclear missiles.”</p><p>Upon completion of military service, Malcolm resided in Oceanside and Murrieta, CA, serving as a</p><p>Senior Project Manager for Southern California Edison, retiring after thirty years in 2013. Malcolm’s</p><p>career began with nuclear power generation at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant, where he</p><p>managed the Nuclear Supply System (NSS) engineering group of twenty-five engineers. He also had</p><p>experience with fuel for power generation from coal and natural gas.</p><p>A man of few words, Malcolm enjoyed the outdoors, military history, and reading. Malcolm Anderson, born in Kansas City, MO, to the late Malcolm and Stina Anderson, passed away

on January 23rd in his sleep of natural causes. Malcolm is survived by his son, Evan Anderson
