<p>Shirley Ann Vincent, 85, of Flemington, WV, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home at Monongah after an extended illness. She was born in Flemington on November 19, 1938, a daughter of the late Riley and Ella (Phelps) Shaffer. </p><p><br></p><p>On February 14, 1959 Shirley married Ronald D. “Ronnie” Vincent, whom preceded her in death on February 29, 2020 after 61 years of marriage. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having also been preceded in death by her seven siblings: Evelyn Lough (Ed), Glenn Shaffer (Ramona), Agnes Wolfe (Willard), Russell Shaffer (Anna Mae), Kathleen Delaney (Jess), Doris Workman (Dave), and Carol McKinney (John).</p><p><br></p><p>Shirley is survived by her two sons: Ronald D. “Ron” Vincent II and wife Yolanda of Bridgeport, and Jeffrey S. Vincent an wife Luana “Lonnie” of Flemington; three grandchildren: Stefen M. Vincent of VA, Adriane O’Mara (Trey) of Clarksburg, and Julia Vincent of Grafton; four step-grandchildren: William McIntyre of Tunnelton, Timothy McIntyre (Shelly) of Rosemont, Michael Keeble of Bridgeport, and Sarah Herrera of TX; and 19 great-grandchildren: Landon, Declan, Rauri, Lochlin, Brittany, Timmy, Matthew, Zoey, Ben, Michael, Gabriel, Elijah, Ezekiel, Josiah, Alyssa, Ryker, Aurora, Xander, and Asher. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>Shirley was a graduate of Flemington High School and worked at Maidenform in her younger years. She went on to work as an aide and later the secretary at Flemington Elementary School. After retiring she still enjoyed being around the children and went back as a volunteer grandparent at the school. She enjoyed going to curves and her summer vacations to Myrtle Beach with her friends. Shirley liked shopping, traveling, and hosting family gatherings during the holidays. She was a member of Evans Chapel United Methodist Church, where she also enjoyed singing for various occasions with the other members. </p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends will be received at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home 950 George Washington Hwy Grafton, WV, on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10am. On February 14, 1959 Shirley married Ronald D. “Ronnie” Vincent, whom preceded her in death on February 29, 2020 after 61 years of marriage.
