Christopher M. Rackliff Obituary

Christopher Meriner Rackliff, 48, of Loudon, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024.  He lived with cancer for three years and took his last breath at home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Farmington, Maine he was the son of Diane Casale (Carey) and the late Robert Rackliff.

Chris married Kristi-Lyn (Michaud) of Loudon and raised three beautiful children in their almost 20 years together. Chris would brag about his wife to anyone that would listen. They enjoyed their date nights in Boston, trying new restaurants, and vacationing as a family.

Chris's super power was his ability to connect with people. Strangers became friends in one conversation. He had a unique, heartfelt interest in each person he was engaged with, leaving an imprint on those lucky enough to be on the other side of the conversation. And boy...did he love to talk!

Chris wore his heart on his sleeve and shared with everyone his pride in his children, and love for his family and friends. He made sure to say "I love You" to every single person he cared about, and he said it often. He would sprinkle "I love You" into a conversation like confetti at a parade.

Chris coached multiple youth sports, and cheered on all the kids playing (for our team, and the other). He stayed invested in the kid’s sports careers from little league and pop warner, through varsity; being found on the sidelines rooting them on.

Chris loved antics, and was childlike at times, loving a good Nerf gun war, a game of Horse, and shenanigans with his kids. His favorite holiday was Halloween. He enjoyed decorating and bringing joy to the neighborhood, and not just on Halloween, Chris would show up at the kid’s games in costumes or even the bus stop. Anything to get a smile from the kids and their families. Chris also loved Haunted Houses and had many ideas of his own of how he would design one (but trust me, you would not want to walk through one he would create, his sense of humor was an acquired taste).

Chris's favorite pastimes were playing pool, riding his motorcycle, seeing just how many thousands of Christmas lights he could hang, watching movies - especially marvel, listening to music, golfing with his Gramp, and exploring new hobbies. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

The thing Chris was sad about the most, when he knew his journey was going to come to an end, was leaving behind his children, Alexia, Logan and Trenton. He loved being their dad. His love for his children had no limits. His love for them is a pure love, and that love will be carried with them for the rest of their lives.

There will be a hole in so many hearts, that will not be able to be filled, as Chris was a one-of-a-kind, truly special person.

In addition to his wife and children, Chris leaves behind his grandparents, Robert and Theresa Carey, his loving mother, Diane Casale, his big sister, Amy Wood, his nephews, Nicholas DelGiudice and Ryan Wood, his niece, Kryslin Stearns, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love him dearly.  Chris was predeceased by his father, Robert Rackliff and brother, Tony Flanagan.

There is a celebration of Chris’s life on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 from 10am – 11am at The Roan Family Funeral Home - Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway, Epsom. A service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. There will be no burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CaringforaCure.org (who helped families like ours) or St. Jude’, as both were close to his heart.

And remember - smile because he was here, and tell the people you care about that you love them.
