Stanley R. Martin
<p>Stanley Roscoe Martin, 82, of Boyds, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Shady Grove Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.<br> <br> Stanley was born on July 10, 1941, to Roscoe and Laura Main Martin in New Market, Maryland. Stanley graduated from Frederick High School in 1959, he went on to join the US Army Reserves where he trained in the Signal Corps. He served for eight years and received an Honorable Discharge in 1967.<br> <br> In 1961, Stanley met his wife Rose Keeney in Walkersville, Maryland. They went on to have five children. Dawn M. Horvath, Stanley R. Martin, Jr., Thaddeus R. Martin, Brantly R. Martin, and Stacey R. Martin.<br> <br> In 1979 Stanley started his business Stan's Appliance Service, Inc. He serviced and repaired major kitchen appliances for 30 years. He retired in 2009, and began to enjoy his retirement growing tomatoes, and riding and going to rallies on his motorcycle with his riding friends.<br> <br> Stanley is preceded in death by his parents Roscoe Baker and Laura Main Martin, two brothers, three sisters, and his son Thaddeus Martin. He is survived by his wife Rose Martin, daughter Dawn Horvath (Christopher), Stanley Martin, Jr., (Melissa), Brantly Martin, and Stacey Martin. Grandchildren: Miranda Martin, Lauren Martin, Megan Martin, Thaddeus Horvath, and great grandson Preston.<br> <br> Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 15th, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872, and Friday, February 16th viewing from 11:00 am until funeral services begin at 12:00 noon, at Damascus Grace Fellowship SDA Church, 8425 Damacus Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872.
