<p>We regret to announce the passing of Nancy C. Kelly. Nancy passed peacefully on the</p><p>evening of February 9th in Garden City Park, NY surrounded by her family. Nancy spent her life in</p><p>the Thoroughbred industry, helping to raise millions for equine research during her 32-year</p><p>career with The Jockey Club. She was also a Past-President and current Vice-President of the</p><p>NY Race Track Chaplaincy. As we mourn her passing, we do so with the knowledge that she</p><p>followed God’s plan throughout her life in service to others.&nbsp;She spent her time organizing</p><p>countless fundraising events, managing racing conferences, and focusing on clubhouse relations</p><p>for The New York Racing Association. Nancy played a key role in the creation and development</p><p>of several Belmont Park based organizations. Among them were the Belmont Child Care</p><p>Association, the New York Race Track Chaplaincy, and had served as the executive director of</p><p>The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation.</p><p><br></p><p>In her personal life Nancy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to</p><p>travel and dine out, and enjoyed an occasional glass or six of fine wine. Nancy fought a long</p><p>battle beginning with ovarian cancer since February of 2019. It is comforting to know she was</p><p>surrounded by her family during her final weeks and will be dearly missed.</p><p>Nancy is survived by her sister Fran Dtugokenski, brother-in-law Ray Dtugokenski and</p><p>nieces Lisa Locurto and Michele Mirabile as well as four grand-nieces and two grand-nephews.</p><p>Nancy's late husband, Jack Kelly, an Equibase chartcaller and field supervisor, died in</p><p>November 2010 after a long battle with polycythemia.</p><p><br></p><p>The wake will be held Feb. 12, at 9 a.m. at the Leo F. Kearns Funeral Home, 445 E.</p><p>Meadow Avenue in East Meadow, N.Y.
