<p>Theodore “Ted” Califano, 86, of St. Paul Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Amsterdam on November 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Theodore and Mary Dattoli Califano.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted received his education in the Amsterdam school system and was graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted was an honorably discharged United States Army Veteran.</p><p><br></p><p>He retired from Carpenters Local 291 out of Albany, NY.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted was predeceased by his wife, Sheila A. Gohl Califano on September 12, 2020 and a sister, Loretta DiZillo.</p><p><br></p><p>Ted is survived by two sons, Donald Califano (Judy) of Albany, NY and David Califano (Autumn) of Lake Charlston, FL; two daughters, Ann Milewski (John ) of Baldwinsville, NY and Jean Califano of Amsterdam, NY. Five grandchildren, two nephews and one niece also survive Ted..</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010, and where a calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00.</p><p><br></p><p>Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam.</p><p><br></p><p>Mn lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Ted’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105</p><p><br></p><p>To send a message to the family, please visit www.rileymortuaryinc.com</p><p><br></p>
