Obituary
Helen M. Lynch
Munger, Michigan
Our devoted and beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Brian’s House with her family by her side, age 100 years young. Helen was born October 30, 1923, in Bay City to the late John and Christina (Volders) Richard. She married the love of her life Francis Lynch on November 9, 1940, and he predeceased her in 1985. Helen and Francis were lifelong members of St. Norbert Catholic Church in Munger until it merged with St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John’s Church in Essexville. She was a member of the Altar Society at St. Norbert’s and enjoyed cooking her famous beans for the funeral luncheons. Helen farmed side by side with her husband all her life and at the same time raised seven wonderful children.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Colleen Plain, Catherine Wazny, Molly (John) Militello, Rick (Alice) Lynch, Dale (Gail) Lynch, and Bonnie Lynch (fiancé Scott Ledtke), eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by a son Mike Lynch, granddaughter Francine Lynch, and two sons-in-law, Bill Wazny and Duane Plain.
The Funeral Mass for Helen will be celebrated Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John’s Church, 614 Pine Street, Essexville, MI 48732. Fr. Dale Orlik will celebrate Mass and private interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery next to her husband Francis. Family and friends will gather at the church Tuesday, February 13th from 9:00 am until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Brian’s House or the “Wishes of the Family” in care of Richard Lynch.
